A man is facing alcohol-related charges following an early-morning crash on Yonge Street, in Toronto's Rosedale neighbourhood.
Police said a taxi was travelling north on Yonge Street and attempting to make a left turn onto Scollard Street, just south of Davenport Road, shortly after midnight. As the cab attempted to turn, it was struck by a southbound Mazda 3.
Toronto Police Const. Clint Stibbe said both drivers, and a passenger who was in the cab, were taken to hospital.
The 44-year-old male passenger is being treated for life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Mazda is facing impaired driving charges, officers said.
As police investigated the cause of the crash and clear the scene, Yonge Street was closed between Davenport Road and Collier Street. The closure lasted from 6:30 a.m. to shortly before 9 a.m.
