TORONTO -- The union representing striking Ontario elevator workers says a new collective agreement has been reached with the National Elevator and Escalator Association.

The International Union of Elevator Constructors says the association has agreed that all employees will be returned to work by July 10 at the latest.

Union spokesman Marcel Wieder says the deal was reached late Friday afternoon with the help of a conciliator.

Wieder says the three-year deal includes a wage increase for the workers.

The association says priority will be given to buildings with only one elevator as the workers return to the job.

Members of the International Union of Elevator Constructors across Ontario had been on strike since May 1.
