Work to replace streetcar track, repair roadway and change out watermains will reduce Richmond Street down to one lane between Monday morning and the end of November, City of Toronto officials say.

The work will take place on Richmond Street between Church and York streets from now until Nov. 30, officials say.

Cyclists using the roadway will share the northern-most lane with car traffic. At other times, construction work will push traffic into the lane with streetcar tracks.

Officials urge cyclists to find alternate routes during those times.

Work on the project may continue 24 hours per day at some points.

The city says traffic signal timing has been adjusted on parallel streets to ease expected congestion in the area.
