Police are trying to identify a man accused of stealing lottery tickets from a Bowmanville, Ont. gas station.

On Tuesday, Sept. 29, the male suspect entered a Shell gas station located at the intersection of Waverly and Baseline Roads and requested to see a tray of scratch and win lottery tickets. He took a handful of the tickets and fled without paying.

Surveillance footage shows the suspect fleeing the scene in a black Hyundai.

Durham Regional Police say the total value of the stolen tickets is $230.

The suspect is described as a white man between 20 and 30 years old who stands approximately five-foott-11 with a slim build. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, black pants and black-and-white running shoes. Police say he has “distinctive” tattoos on his left forearm.
