A Mississauga man has been charged in connection with a fire that caused $600,000 worth of damage to a GTA home earlier in the week.

On Tuesday, the Mississauga Fire Department and Peel police were called to at a large blaze at a Duchess Drive home, near Cawthra Road and the QEW.

Police say that after the fire was extinguished, an estimated 110 marijuana plants were allegedly found within the residence. Police say most of the plants were destroyed while extinguishing the fire.

Paul Pasceri, 56, was arrested and charged with production of a controlled substance.

He is expected to appear in a Brampton court on May 26.

The Ontario Fire Marshall's Office is still in the process of investigating the exact cause of the fire.
