Environment Canada predicts a mix of sun and cloud throughout the day, and the UV index will hit a high of 7, or high. The mercury is expected to climb to 23 C before temperatures drop to a low of 16 C overnight.

TRAFFIC

Commuters have slowed to a crawl on the eastbound Highway 401 between Dixie Road and Highway 427, but traffic is moving well along the rest of the 401.

Similarly, traffic is stopped in parts of the eastbound Gardiner Expressway, from Park Lawn Road to Jameson Avenue, and westbound from Spadina Avenue to Fort York Boulevard.

The southbound Don Valley Parkway is moving slowly from Highway 401 to Eglinton Avenue East.

Candlelight vigil for Burlington man

A candlelight vigil will be held at Burlington City Hall at 9 p.m. tonight to bring attention to the plight of Neil Bantleman. The 45-year-old teacher from Burlington has been detained in Indonesia over allegation of sexual assault involving a student. (hyperlink: http://toronto.ctvnews.ca/burlington-man-detained-in-indonesia-innocent-family-insists-1.1922860). Bantleman's wife, Tracy, has previously said that her husband is innocent. Ferdinand Tjiong, a teaching assistant, has also been detained.
