Dean Del Mastro's sentencing hearing begins

Sentencing arguments for Dean Del Mastro are expected to begin in a Lindsay, Ont., courtroom today. The former parliamentary secretary to Prime Minister Stephen Harper was found guilty of exceeding spending limits, failing to report a personal contribution of $21,000 to his own campaign, and knowingly submitting a falsified document.

Extreme cold leads to 'grebe-mageddon'

The Toronto Wlidlife Centre says an increasing number of grebes, a close cousin to the loon, are being rescued due to the frigid cold. The group says the rescued birds may need to be transported to the Arctic Ocean as nearly 83 per cent of the Great Lakes have frozen over.

The Toronto Maple Leafs and the Raptors are off until Friday. The Leafs will be in North Carolina to play the Hurricanes and the Raptors are heading to Georgia to play the Atlanta Hawks.

Heritage Toronto Plaque Unveiling

Heritage Toronto will unveil a plaque to commemorate the Wong Association of Ontario (Wong Kung Har Wun Sun Association). The Wongs have been part of the historic fabric of Toronto and Chinatown for more than 100 years.
