ESSA, Ont. - Three people are facing first-degree murder charges in connection with the discovery of a body in a burned-out car in a central Ontario community.
Provincial police in Essa Township, near Innisfil, say they received a report Sunday of a car on fire, and a body was found in the gutted vehicle once the fire was extinguished.
An autopsy conducted on the body of the victim, 39-year-old Herminder Bhandal of Brampton, confirmed that he was the victim of a homicide.
Police have not identified the three people charged but say they are in custody.
The investigation is ongoing and police say further information will be released as it becomes available.
