The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto is dealing with three cases of H1N1 at its women’s inpatient unit, a spokesperson for the centre confirmed on Friday.

CAMH says a total of six adults have shown symptoms of the virus, which first surfaced among clients on March 14.

Tests results are still outstanding for one individual and one staff member is home sick, though it’s not clear if that person’s symptoms are related to H1N1.

Toronto Public Health declared an outbreak on March 17 and only staff who have been vaccinated or have received Tamiflu are currently allowed in or out of the unit.

The unit – located on the ninth floor of the centre at 250 College St. – has been closed to transfers and admissions since March 17.

CAMH says the situation is considered stable and there have been no life-threatening cases so far.
