VAUGHAN, Ont. - Striking York Region Transit and Viva bus drivers stepped up their job action this morning.

They blocked Veolia buses from getting out of a depot in Vaughan.

They also delayed buses at other locations, such as a Toronto Transit Commission station where YRT buses pull in.

The delays ranged from 10 to 30 minutes.

This follows news on Thursday that the labour disruption has saved the region upwards of $5 million since it began in October.

The surplus will be used as an apology to those who rely on transit -- free rides for a month once the strike ends.
