The woman, who has not been publicly identified, was struck along with another man on College Street, near Palmerston Boulevard, shortly before 8 p.m.

According to Toronto police, the woman and man were struck by two separate vehicles that were travelling in opposite directions on College Street.

The woman was rushed to a trauma centre in critical condition and succumbed to her injuries, Toronto Police Const. Clint Stibbe confirmed Thursday.

The male victim was also transported to hospital with serious injuries but an update on his condition was not provided.

Police at the time said both vehicles involved in the collision remained at the scene.
