Two people have been transported to hospital – one with life-threatening injuries – after being struck by two separate vehicles in Little Italy Wednesday evening.
It happened on College Street, near Palmerston Boulevard, shortly before 8 p.m.
The circumstances surrounding the incident were not immediately clear.
A woman was transported to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries, paramedics said. The second victim, a man, was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
The ages of the patients were not immediately provided.
Both vehicles involved remained at the scene, police said.
A stretch of College Street was closed for several hours as police investigated. It has since reopened.
According to police, at least 20 people have been struck on Toronto streets tonight.
