York Regional Police are investigating after a woman was killed after she was struck by a vehicle in Vaughan, north of Toronto.

The woman was hit while crossing the roadway at Highway 7 east of Jane Street just after 5:30 p.m. on Monday

Police said the woman was taken to Sunnybrook hospital but succumbed to her injuries.

The driver of a Camry involved in the incident was not injured.

York police said on Tuesday that the investigation was ongoing.
