Police are investigating after a 31-year-old woman was found dead in an apartment in Toronto's Rexdale neighbourhood.
Officers said they were called to a building in the area of Albion Road and Kipling Avenue at approximately 4:45 a.m. on Saturday morning.
A group of "acquaintances" had gone to the apartment to visit with the woman, police said in a statement Monday. When the acquaintances arrived, they found the woman's body.
The woman was identified as 31-year-old Sylvia Consuelo. Police have not released her cause of death, but said that a post-mortem examination had been conducted.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are looking for any witnesses who may be able to provide information on Consuelo's whereabouts on Friday.
