PARRY SOUND, Ont. - A winter storm watch is in effect for the Parry Sound and Huntsville areas in central Ontario.

Environment Canada says a significant amount of freezing rain is expected to enter the region Monday night.

The weather agency says significant ice may accumulate due to the freezing rain and will likely become mixed with ice pellets at times.

Environment Canada says the precipitation will continue until Tuesday night, and include snow.

Meanwhile, a special weather statement says there could also be freezing rain Tuesday morning in the North Bay area.

The statement forecasts heavy rain in southern regions and a wintry mix including freezing rain east of Georgian Bay.
