A 25-year-old Windsor man is facing multiple charges in connection with a series of home invasion robberies that occurred in Peel Region over a 15-month period.
According to police, the robberies took place between October 2014 and Dec. 23, 2015.
Details on the number of robberies, and specifics dates and locations were not provided by police.
“These acts were vicious and cowardly,” police said in a release Tuesday night.
“In some cases, the accused parties used (handguns), duct tape, zip ties and a (Taser) to assault the victims, which included elderly people and children.”
Police said a suspect turned himself on Monday.
EDITOR'S NOTE: Charges against a suspect named in the case, Rashid Ahmad, have been stayed and no criminal conviction was registered against him, according to court documents provided to CTV Toronto.
