A man and a woman have been arrested in connection with a violent street robbery in the city’s downtown core.
According to police, on June 1 at around 7:30 p.m., a 53-year-old man was standing on the sidewalk near Yonge and Dundas streets when he was approached by a man and a woman.
Police allege that the man then attacked the victim and choked him for several minutes as the woman robbed him.
The victim suffered injuries to his face as a result of the attack and was taken to hospital for treatment.
The man and woman fled the area on foot.
On June 17, police arrested two suspects – Toronto residents 35-year-old Daniel Cote and 28-year-old Selma Owl-kok. They have both been charged with robbery and Cote was also charged with overcome resistance by choking.
