Two men are recovering in hospital after being shot and wounded while standing outside a Toronto convenience store early Saturday morning.
Toronto police Sgt. Alexis Edwicker of 13 Division said the two men were outside Sam's Food Stores, a 24-hour convenience store at Vaughan Road and Oakwood Avenue when the shooting occurred just after 4 a.m.
"They were approached by an unknown number of suspects," Edwicker said, adding the shooters fled in a vehicle.
"It's unknown if it's gang-related," she said.
Both victims were taken to Sunnybrook Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. One was wounded in the head, the other in the upper torso.
