Peel police say two 17-year-old male suspects have appeared in court, facing second-degree murder charges in the shooting death of a 15-year-old Brampton boy.

"Those two people have appeared in court and they have been remanded into custody until tomorrow morning," Const. Marlene Murphy told ctvtoronto.ca in a brief phone interview on Sunday afternoon. "They each face one count of second-degree murder."

Police are still hunting for two other suspects who were seen fleeing from a catwalk near Brampton's Earnscliffe Public School, where 15-year-old Baden Jeffrey Willcocks was gunned down Friday night.

Witnesses told CTV Toronto that the victim had been hanging out at a friend's house before heading into an area near the catwalk just before 9 p.m. on Friday night.

It is believed that the teen may have been killed in a drug transaction that went wrong.

Willcocks was Peel's 12th confirmed homicide of 2009.

Members of the surrounding neighbourhood ran to his side after he was shot, near Clark Boulevard and Edenborough Drive, but were unable to save him.

Witnesses told police that they saw four black male driving away from the scene in a gold-coloured vehicle.

On Saturday, police announced they had arrested the two 17-year-old suspects who appeared in court on Sunday.

Murphy said the community has been very helpful to police in providing tips in the case.

"The community has been incredibly supportive," she said. "They've given us a lot of great and valuable information and we hope that they will continue to do so to bring these two remaining suspects into custody."
