A busy downtown intersection is partially closing and a Gardiner Expressway ramp is being shut down for TTC track and electrical work over the weekend.

According to city officials, there will be a partial closure at Spadina Avenue and Lake Shore Boulevard from Friday at 10 a.m. to Monday at 5 a.m.

To accommodate the work, the eastbound Gardiner Expressway ramp to Spadina will be closed, the city said in a news release.

Motorists who want to exit the Gardiner’s eastbound lanes at Spadina should use the Jameson or York-Bay-Yonge ramps instead.

During the work project, one eastbound lane of traffic on Lake Shore Boulevard and two southbound lanes on Spadina will be open, but northbound traffic on Spadina will be closed at Lake Shore.

Northbound traffic will detour through Rees Street and Bremner Boulevard.

Alternative eastbound routes include Front Street West, King Street West and Adelaide Street West, the city said.

The intersection will remain open to pedestrians.
