The Toronto Transit Commission is vowing 10-minutes-or-better service on 52 of its routes beginning this fall.
The improvements are part of the transit agency's $100-million service upgrades for 2015 that were approved by city council and the TTC board.
The changes will apply to subway service, 12 streetcar routes and 37 bus routes. Commuters can expect the increased service from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m.
"TTC riders will have shorter wait times at transit stops," TTC chair Coun. Josh Colle told reporters on Monday afternoon.
"It will help reduce crowding on vehicles and provide a more comfortable, convenient, but most importantly, reliable service for our users."
The TTC says the enhanced service comes with a price tag of $11 million a year. However, Colle says the improved service is also expected to increase ridership and could bring in an additional $4 million in fare revenue.
