The 100th Toronto Public Library branch opened its doors on Wednesday, welcoming young and old readers alike to a new, modern space that features multilingual books and a digital workspace outfitted with a 3D printer.

The new 1,347-square-metre library is located in Scarborough at 156 Borough Dr. Bibliophiles who visit the airy space with its large wooden beams will be greeted by a collection of 40,000 books, audiobooks, magazines and DVDs in English, Chinese, Gujarati and Tamil.

There are also more than a dozen public computers, and a workspace dubbed the "Digital Innovation Hub" that features 3D printers and audio-video editing software. And for those who enjoy the outdoors, the library also features a reading garden and a green roof.
