Residents in the Greater Toronto Area are getting another blast of extreme winter weather on Monday, as Environment Canada issued a wind chill warning for the city for Toronto.
An Arctic air mass has settled over southern Ontario, delivering bone-chilling temperatures that are expected to dip to a low of -30 C tonight with the wind chill, according to the national weather agency. On Tuesday, temperatures with the wind chill are again expected to hover near the - 30 C mark.
The City of Toronto on Monday issued an extreme cold weather alert, adding 26 additional shelter spaces to help bring the homeless in from the cold. Outreach street workers will also be patrolling the downtown core, urging the homeless to head inside.
Pearson International Airport is urging travellers to check with their airlines for status updates before heading out.

A warming centre will be opened at 3 p.m. at Toronto's Metro Hall.
Outside of the GTA, a wind chill warning has also been issued for most of Ontario.
The normal high for this time of the year is -2 C.
