ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - Police say one of the men facing charges in a fatal shooting at a Toronto ice cream parlour last year has been returned to Canada.
Niagara regional police say Martino Caputo, 39, of Toronto, who was arrested in Germany in February, did not oppose extradition and was returned on Thursday.
Caputo, who is facing first-degree murder charges in the shooting of John Raposo, 35, was being held by German authorities on a warrant for drug-related offences in Niagara Region.
Raposo was fatally shot on the patio of the Sicilian Ice Cream Shop on College Street on June 18 as soccer fans gathered to watch a Euro Cup game.
Dean Wiwchar, 27, of Vancouver, and Nicola Nero, 36, of Niagara Falls, Ont., are also charged with first-degree murder in Raposo's slaying.
Police are also working to extradite a fourth man in the case, Rabih Alkhalil, 25, who was arrested in Greece earlier this year.
