Toronto police are asking for the public’s help identifying two suspects after a cab driver was beaten in a fare dispute early Sunday morning.

Police say the incident happened after two men hired a Beck taxi cab around 1:15 a.m. near College and Clinton streets.

The driver told police the men exited the cab without paying the fare in the area of Bloor Street West and Dundas Street West.

The driver chased after the men to demand payment and was then severely beaten, police say.

The suspects were last seen running away northbound on Dorval Drive.

Police released photos of the two suspects Sunday afternoon.

The first suspect is described as a white male between 18 and 19 years of age. He was clean-shaven with brown hair and was wearing a dark winter jacket and a baseball cap with the brim turned backwards.

The second suspect is also described as a white male between 18 and 19 years of age with brown hair and a dark winter jacket. However he was wearing his baseball hat with the brim facing forward.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone with information to call 11 Division at 416-808-1100.
