An Air Canada flight heading from Toronto to Montreal has landed safely after it was diverted to Trenton, Ont., according to the airline.

Air Canada Flight 408 left Toronto at around 11 a.m. Sunday carrying 119 passengers and five crew, according to the airline.

It appears the cause of the diversion was a “galley oven that over-heated,” according to an airline spokesperson.

“The aircraft landed safely and there are no reported injuries,” the spokesperson said.

A plane is being sent from Montreal to pick up the passengers on Sunday afternoon, the spokesperson added.

The aircraft involved is an Airbus A320.

Trenton is home to a large Canadian Forces air base. It is located approximately halfway between Toronto and Ottawa.
