The breakfast was supposed to be on the house on a recent Singapore Airlines flight to London.
Unfortunately, it ended up being on the passengers instead.
Those aboard the Sunday flight from Singapore found themselves covered in bacon, eggs coffee and other debris after the plane hit a patch of turbulence and dropped about 20 metres in a matter of seconds.
According to Toronto-based broadcaster Allan Cross, the pilot had warned passengers that they were about to hit the turbulence and meal service had been suspended when the plane suddenly dropped.
Speaking with ABC News, Cross said the ordeal was “like being in an elevator with a cut cable or free-falling from some amusement park ride.”
Cross, who formerly hosted the Ongoing History of New Music on the Edge, ended up with a piece of sausage down his shirt and his coffee all over the ceiling but he was otherwise unharmed.
An official with the airline told ABC News that 11 passengers and one crew member did suffer minor injuries and were treated by paramedics upon arrival at Heathrow Airport 10 hours later.
The incident is not believed to have been caused by any sort of mechanical difficulty.
