An outspoken city councillor will undergo emergency surgery.
Ward 7 York West Coun. Giorgio Mammoliti was rushed to hospital on Thursday night and is expected to go under the knife sometime today, according to his administrative assistant Alex Barbieri.
The exact nature of the surgery is not known, but Mammoliti is considered to be in non-life threatening condition.
A former member of Ford’s executive committee, Mammoliti resigned in November after a judge ordered Ford removed from office for violating the Municipal Conflict of Interest Act in a decision that was later overturned.
