Teen in life-threatening condition after falling from roof of moving GO train in Toronto
A 15-year-old boy is in hospital in life-threatening condition after falling from the roof of a moving GO train early Sunday morning, police say.
It happened at around midnight as the train headed eastbound after leaving Union Station.
Police say that the boy was with three other youths, all of which went onto the roof of the train while it was in motion.
At one point the 15-year-old came into contact with a stationary object and fell off the roof, police say.
Police say that the three other youths then returned inside the train and called 911.
In a statement, Metrolinx said that it was working with local law enforcement to investigate the “incredibly dangerous incident.”
“Our thoughts go out to the loved ones of the individual and all those impacted including our team members and first responders,” the statement notes. “Incidents like this are too often tragic and life-altering and we urge everyone not to take this dangerous action.”
