A Toronto man has died after his head was crushed between his car and the wall of his apartment's parking garage early Sunday morning.

Police say that around 4:45 a.m., a man was trying to access the underground parking garage of his apartment at 96 Jameson Avenue. It appears that he opened the driver's side door in order to reach the key box. As he was leaning outside of the car, it moved forward and he was pinned between the wall and the door frame.

"He suffered massive head trauma and succumbed to his injuries," Toronto police Traffic Services Sgt. Paul Brainard said in a news release.

The 36-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His name will not be released.

Traffic Services is investigating the incident and is asking anyone with information to contact them at 416-808-1900.
