Police have charged a man who allegedly posed as a Bell employee to gain entry to a woman’s home and then sexually assaulted her.
Police say that the man knocked on the door at an apartment in the Dawes Road and Gower Street area at around 6:55 p.m. on Friday and identified himself as a Bell employee to the 22-year-old woman who answered.
The man was then invited inside to discuss service plans.
At that point, police allege that he sexually assaulted the woman.
On Saturday evening, a suspect identified as Ryan Khalil contacted police and was taken into custody, his lawyer told CP24.
He is scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Sunday at 10 a.m.
