Police have released surveillance camera images of a man who has allegedly gone on robbery “sprees” in the Forest Hill and Corso Italia neighbourhoods of Toronto over the last few months.

The suspect has allegedly robbed up to 10 financial branches in the area.

The first robbery occurred at a financial institution on Jan. 12 and the most recent was on March 19.

In each incident, police say the male suspect presents the teller with a hand-written note that indicates a demand for cash and that he is armed.

The tellers have complied with his request and handed the man an undisclosed quantity of money. No one has been injured during the robberies.

Police said that on two occasions, the suspect robbed three to four branches in a row.

Toronto police Staff Insp. Mike Earl of the Toronto Police Hold-Up Squad said that most of the robberies occurred in the Forest Hill area, between St. Clair Avenue and Bathurst Street and then west of that, in the Corso Italia neighbourhood.

The suspect has also robbed bank locations near St. Clair Avenue West and Runnymede Road, Keele Street and Hwy. 401, Glencairn Avenue and Dufferin Street, and the Dundas and Bloor Streets area.

The suspect is described as a man in his mid-20s who is between five-foot-seven and five-foot-nine with a slim build. Police said the man had cornrows in early robberies and wavy hair in later robberies.

The suspect fled on foot from the scene each time.

Police said the suspect, a man who police think may have a mixed ethnicity, is known to disguise himself with dark sunglasses and a scarf or collar pulled up over his mouth.

Toronto Police have also released surveillance camera footage of the suspect. They are seeking the public's assistance identifying the man seen in the video. You can view the surveillance camera footage below.
