Two people have been arrested following a car chase that ended in a crash on the front lawn of a Mississauga home.

Peel Regional Police said a vehicle involved in the crash was reported stolen shortly before 10 p.m. on Monday.

The vehicle was spotted a short time later, and followed by two police cruisers. At one point, the vehicle rammed into one of the cruisers, police said.

As officers pursued the stolen car, the driver lost control and crashed into the yard of a home in the area of Eglinton and Heatherleigh Avenues.

An officer suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash, but was treated at the scene. No one else was injured in the incident.

Two people in the stolen car were taken into custody, but police have not said what charges they will face.
