Toronto police say they have made a second arrest in the 2008 beating death of a city teen.

On May 4 of that year, police found Mahamed Adbi Warsame, 16, in the stairwell of a building located at 25 Cougar Ct. That location is a few hundred metres north of the intersection of Markham Road and Eglinton Avenue East.

He was the city's 17th homicide victim of 2010.

Warsame didn't live at the building where he died, but his family did.

More than a year would go by before a break occurred in the case.

On July 8, 2009, police announced that Adrian Narayan, 20, of Toronto had been arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection with Warsame's death.

Police said Tuesday they arrested Anthony Taylor, 22, of Mississauga and have charged him with second-degree murder.

Taylor was to make a court appearance on Tuesday.

No allegations against Taylor or Narayan have been proven in a court of law.
