EUGENIA, Ont. - Provincial police have identified an 18-year-old man whose body was found in Lake Eugenia, northeast of Flesherton, Ont.
Diego (Dean) Ferro of Cambridge had been missing since a canoe he was in capsized on the lake sometime before 7:30 a.m on Sunday.
Police say a 14-year-old girl who was with him managed to swim to shore and was treated and released from an area hospital.
A post-mortem examination is scheduled this morning at Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound.
Police say Ferro and the girl were at an overnight post-prom event involving more than a dozen students at a cottage near the lake.
The two had left the cottage early Sunday, without life-jackets, despite cool temperatures and a strong wind.
