A 58-year-old woman is dead after she was struck and killed by a vehicle in Scarborough Wednesday morning.
Police say that she was attempting to cross Birchmount Road north of Ellesmere Road at approximately 6:15 a.m. when she was struck by a 2005 Pontiac Sunfire.
Police believe that she was crossing to the west side of Birchmount Road to get to a bus stop.
She was pronounced dead on the scene after bystanders and paramedics performed CPR on her.
Police will be looking into whether or not the driver was distracted at the time of the incident.
