TORONTO - The list of products recalled in Canada continues to grow as food tracing efforts uncover more products made with peanut butter from a Georgia supplier at the heart of a massive salmonella outbreak in the United States.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced Friday a U.S. and Canadian recall of peanut butter cookies and cookie bars made by Arico Natural Foods Company of Beaverton, Ore.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency had not announced the recall Friday afternoon. But Monika Mazur, a spokesperson for the agency, said the current list of recalled products may grow as tracing operations on both sides of the border continue.

The Arico products covered by the recall are:

  • Arico Peanut Butter Cookies, in a stand-up pouch with UPC 1 82363 00022 1. Sell-by dates of "080309" and "100509."
  • Arico Peanut Butter Cookie Bars, UPC 1 82363 00006 1, sell-by date of AUG0409; M03098.

Earlier products recalled in Canada are:

  • Promedis High Protein Bars, roasted peanut, yogurt coated, seven times 41 grams, UPC 0 64642 04105 0.
  • Promedis High Protein Bars, roasted peanut, chocolate coated, seven times 41 g., UPC 0 64642 04102 9.
