MISSISSAUGA, Ont. - A provincial police officer faces a dangerous driving charge after an investigation by Ontario's police watchdog.
The Special Investigations Unit found that on Sept. 14 last year, OPP officers tried to stop a vehicle being driven by a 29-year-old man in Plympton-Wyoming, east of Sarnia.
The vehicle didn't stop and went into a ditch, leaving a 25-year-old woman who was a passenger with a serious injury.
The SIU says OPP Const. Kevin Brown of the Lambton detachment is facing one charge of dangerous driving causing bodily harm.
The officer is set to appear in a Sarnia court on April 28.
The SIU is an arm's-length agency that investigates reports involving police where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
