TORONTO - Thirteen first responders who died while serving the public have been honoured by the Ontario government.

Premier Kathleen Wynne presented plaques to their family members in a ceremony at the legislature Sunday.

The deceased include seven firefighters, one police officer, four paramedics and an air ambulance pilot who died in incidents dating back to 2007.

The provincial Tribute to the Fallen honours police, firefighters, soldiers and paramedics who died in the line of duty.
