TORONTO - Brit band Oasis have postponed tonight's show in London after guitarist Noel Gallagher was injured in a fan attack over the weekend.

Concert promoter Live Nation says Gallagher suffered bruising to his ribs and hip and is unable to perform as scheduled.

The show has been rescheduled for Dec. 15.

Gallagher was injured Sunday after a man ran onto the stage during a performance at the Virgin Festival in Toronto.

Gallagher was pushed from behind and fell onto his monitor speakers, suffering bruising to his ribs and hip.

A statement on the band's website says Gallagher was examined at a local hospital and told to rest, but still feels unable to perform.

"The band are very keen to complete their Canadian tour," says the statement.

Live Nation says tickets for Tuesday's show will be valid for the new date. Refunds can be made at point of ticket purchase until Oct. 10.

The band's next schedule performance is set for Friday in New York.

Daniel Sullivan, 47, of Pickering, Ont., has been charged with assault in the incident and is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 24.
