People who are planning to take the subway in downtown Toronto this weekend should take note of a significant closure.
There will be no service between Bloor-Yonge and St. Andrew stations Saturday and Sunday because TTC crews are upgrading signals.
Nearly 50 shuttle buses will run between Rosedale and St. Andrew stations. Customers can also use the 6 Bay or 94 Wellesley buses or the 506 Carlton, 505 Dundas, 501 Queen or 504 King streetcars as alternatives, the TTC says.
Wheel-Trans buses are available.
Union subway station will be closed for construction all weekend.
That means subway or shuttle bus customers who are heading to the Air Canada Centre for Saturday’s Maple Leafs game or Sunday’s Billy Joel concert will have to walk from King or St. Andrew stations or take the 6 Bay bus, the TTC says.
Normal subway service is scheduled to resume Monday at 6 a.m.
The signal upgrades will continue on the weekends of March 22 and 23 and April 5 and 6. Subway trains will not be running between Bloor-Yonge and St. Andrew Stations on those weekends.
