LONDON, Ont. - Police say no charges will be laid in a crash which claimed the life of a Mississauga, Ont., woman on Highway 401 last Sunday.

Amber Verdoni, 50, had stopped below an overpass to fix a windshield wiper on her van when the vehicle was struck by a passing snowplow.

Verdoni was killed by the impact as her two children in the van witnessed the tragedy during a massive snowstorm.

The crash occurred as southern Ontario and Quebec were slammed by a massive winter storm that dumped near-record amounts of snow.

Provincial police say that after a thorough investigation, it has been determined no charges will be laid against the driver.

The two children in the van and the snowplow driver did not suffer any physical injuries, but were treated for shock in hospital.
