"Having a New Year's baby is so special," Julian's doctor told reporters at the hospital, holding the sleeping baby.

"This was particularly special because this is a very beautiful boy."

Another boy, Theo Franz, was welcomed at Trillium Health Centre in Mississauga 34 minutes after the New Year's countdown. Theo weighs 7 pounds, 2.7 ounces.
