Miranda Anthistle

Reporter, CTV News Toronto

Miranda Anthistle joined CTV NEWS TORONTO as a general assignment reporter in January 2017. This marked a homecoming of sorts for Anthistle, who began her journalism career as a chase producer at CTV Toronto in 2011.

A broadcast journalist with newsroom experience both in Canada and the U.S., Anthistle has covered news at both the local and national levels. In her current role, Anthistle has reported on a variety of breaking and general assignment news in the Greater Toronto Area, such as the province’s bid to help critically ill children impacted by the U.S. travel ban, the Conservative Party of Canada leadership convention, the tragic restaurant explosion in Mississauga, and the 2018 Ontario provincial election.

Before joining CTV News Toronto, Anthistle worked as a reporter for CP24 and CTV News Channel. Prior to this, she served as CHCH evening news co-anchor after starting out as a videographer in 2014. Anthistle’s broadcasting career has taken her to Medicine Hat, Alta., where she worked as a reporter and fill-in anchor for CHAT Television beginning in February 2012, as well as San Francisco, where she interned at CBS.

After earning a B.A. with honours from Queen’s University, majoring in English Language & Literature and minoring in Spanish Language, Anthistle worked as a reporter in Brazil. Returning to Toronto, she graduated from the post-graduate journalism program at Humber College in 2011.

Born in London, England and raised in Toronto, Anthistle considers both cities home and is delighted to be living in and reporting on Toronto. When she’s not in the newsroom or out in the field, Anthistle can be found travelling as much as possible and spending time with family and friends – preferably at the cottage, on a dance floor, or at home with her cats!
