A 35-year-old man has been pronounced dead after an accident involving an elevator in downtown Toronto on Tuesday evening.
The incident occurred at One King West Hotel & Residence, in the Yonge and King streets area, shortly before 7:30 p.m.
It was initially reported as an industrial accident with serious injuries. Paramedics confirmed that the man had died a short time later.
He may have been crushed, paramedics said.
It was not immediately clear who the man was working for when the accident occurred.
The Ministry of Labour is currently investigating.
