Peel police have arrested a man they say is connected to a home invasion robbery in Mississauga nearly two years ago.

Peel Regional Police say in the morning of Oct. 23, 2023, four suspects wearing hard hats and carrying clipboards allegedly forced their way into a home near Mavis Road and Bristol Road West while residents were inside.

Once inside, investigators say the suspects violently assaulted and forcibly confined the victims while brandishing a gun and demanding property and money.

Police say the victims suffered multiple serious injuries.

On Wednesday, Peel police say they arrested 34-year-old Clifford Francois and charged him with robbery, forcible confinement, and assault causing bodily harm. The charges have not been tested in court.

The investigation remains ongoing, and police say they anticipate more charges being laid.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
