Four suspects sought in Scarborough distraction theft

Toronto police have released suspect images following a theft in which four suspects allegedly distracted a store employee before making off with cash and merchandise.

The incident happened in the area of Markham Road and Steeles Avenue East at around 3 p.m. on Dec. 6.

According to police, four suspects – two male and two female – entered a store in the area and proceeded to take turns distracting an employee.

The four suspects then allegedly stole a quantity of cash and merchandise before fleeing in an unknown direction.

The first suspect is described as a male of around 40 years of age. He was wearing a black baseball hat, black jacket, dark blue jeans, and a blue medical mask.

The second male suspect is described as having a thin beard and moustache. He was wearing a black shirt, black jacket, blue jeans, and a gray toque.

The third suspect is described as a female who was wearing a leopard print head scarf, black jacket, long black dress, and carrying a large black purse.

The fourth suspect is described as a female who was also wearing a long black dress, a long black and white vest, and a leopard print head scarf.

Police are asking anyone with further information about the incident to contact investigators or to call Crime Stoppers anonymously.
