Emergency crews are battling a fire at a home in the Thornhill Woods neighbourhood of Vaughan.

A home on Autumn Hill Boulevard, between Daphnia and Chagall drives, caught fire just before 4 p.m., according to York Regional Police.

Const. Andy Pattenden said police have contacted the owner of the house who is currently not in the city.

It appears that no one was inside the home when the fire broke out.

Pattenden said it is too early to determine the cause of the fire or if any foul play was involved.

Autumn Hill Boulevard was closed as firefighters work to extinguish the blaze.
