GOYANG, South Korea - Graeme Murray scored the lone goal for Canada in a 1-0 gold-medal victory over the United States on Saturday at the IPC Sledge Hockey World Championship.
Corbin Watson recorded his fourth shutout of the tournament as the Canadians finished the tournament with an undefeated 5-0 record, outscoring their opponents 20-3.
It is the third time Canada has won gold at the event, having taken the top prize in 2000 and 2008. Canada won the bronze medal at last year's world championship in Hamar, Norway.
In a tight defensive battle, Murray, of Gravenhurst, Ont., finally broke through at 2:07 into the second period off a pass from teammate Anthony Gale.
Watson, who hails from Kingsville, Ont., stopped all five shots he faced to remain perfect at the tournament.
Captain Greg Westlake of Oakville, Ont., was named the tournament's top forward. He finished with five goals and three assists.
