A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for the arrest of a 22-year-old woman in connection with the fatal shooting of a Markham man earlier this year.
Twenty-seven-year-old Noel Williams was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds on a sidewalk near McCowan Road and Bur Oak Avenue in the early morning hours of Feb. 10.
He was rushed to hospital for treatment but did not survive.
A suspect identified as 28-year-old Jasper Atienza was charged with first-degree murder in connection with the case on April 19. He appeared in court on the charges last month.
In a news release issued Monday, York Regional Police announced that they are still searching for a second suspect.
The second suspect, identified as 22-year-old Laurie Phan, is wanted for first-degree murder.
Anyone with information about the investigation or the suspect’s whereabouts is being asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
